WhoPooped ("the App") is developed by Charles Muno. This policy explains what data the App collects, how it is used, and your choices.
Photos you take or select are processed entirely on your device using local inference. Photos are never uploaded to external servers unless you explicitly opt in to the optional LLM-assisted review feature (Pro tier). When LLM review is used, photos are sent to a secure server proxy and are not retained after processing.
If you grant location permission, the App captures approximate GPS coordinates (coarsened to 3 decimal places, roughly neighborhood-level accuracy). Location is used only to improve seasonal and habitat bird priors for more accurate identification. Location data is stored on your device only and is never transmitted externally.
If you sign in with Apple, your Apple ID credential and optional name/email are stored locally on your device using secure storage. These credentials are not transmitted to any external server.
All scan results and history are stored locally on your device using on-device storage. You can delete your history at any time by clearing the app's data.
Subscription and purchase status is managed by RevenueCat, a third-party purchase management service. RevenueCat processes only purchase-related data (transaction receipts, subscription status) and does not receive your photos, location, or personal information. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by an updated effective date at the top of this page.
